No Cripple left behind

My friend Alyssa had to get foot surgery last week!! Katie, Valeria, and I really want to make Alyssa laugh and be happy while she is on crutches and etc. Well Friday we were all at the Helms making cookie dough for a Young Womans fundraiser(the fundraiser experience could be a whole new post but I really don't want to talk about cookies right now!). It was about 8:00 and it was a beautiful day so we decided to go on a walk. Well it would be impossible for Alyssa to come on her crutches so we put her and Olivia in my wagon and Katie, Valeria, and i pulled them around the block for about an hour and a half!! It was a blast, Katie walked on Alyssas crutches basically the whole time!! It was hillarious! Down below are pictures we took and I edited to share with you guys!

Young Womens Project

I finally finished my first Young Woman's project!!! I made a generations quilt that is made of fabric from all of the woman in my family. It took me about 6 months to do and was a lot of work but once I saw the final project I was glad that I spent that time on it. There is only 4 more days of school left and I AM SUPER EXCITED FOR THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!! I will post about all of those end of the school year stuff when it happens!! Down below is a picture of my quilt which is now hanging up in my family room. I would like to thank my mom, grammie, grandma Newkirk, Aunt Angie, Grandma Starr, Aunt Tonya, Faith, Aurora, and Aunt Alena for helping me finish my quilt!

The Trifle Queen and Eclipse Trailer!

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted in a while. The past month has been very stress full and busy. I had all sorts of posts planned in my head and none of them got finished. So today I am here at home with nothing to do and then realized this would be a perfect time to do a blog post. Lately here at the house I have been the Trifle Queen, making all sorts of types of trifle's. I have made a chocolate chip cookie trifle, brownie trifle, and just recently and strawberry lemon trifle. My favorite of the three is the brownie trifle and I am going to post that recipe here.
The Trailer for the third Twilight film Eclipse came out last week. I thought trailer was very good and it looks like it is going to be good like the other two. Down below is the Brownie trifle recipe and the Eclipse Trailer. I will try to get better on posting posts about events that are happening. This week is spring break and I hope to get some pics of what I did during spring break!
  • 1 (20 ounce) package fudge brownie mix
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 (5.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 (16 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 10 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed

Directions

  1. Prepare the fudge brownies according to package directions, using the oil, water and eggs. Bake in a 9x13 inch pan. allow to cool.
  2. When brownies are cool, prepare the pudding; in a large bowl, combine pudding mix and milk. mix until smooth and set aside to thicken.
  3. Cut the brownies into 3 inch squares. Line the bottom of a large serving bowl unevenly with 1/2 of the brownie squares. Pour half of the pudding over the brownies, then cover with half of the whipped topping. Repeat layers. Sprinkle top with crumbled cookies.

Samuel Frederick Kahle

My aunt Angie had her baby boy last Sunday named Samuel Frederick Kahle. So on Sunday and Monday I got to babysit Lily with my grandma. We got to go shopping in Salina and we had a pretty interesting experience. We were at Dillards and I had found some cute outfits so we went to the dressing rooms to try them on. Grandma and Lily were waiting outside of the dressing rooms while I was trying them on. While I was trying on the outfits it sounded like Lily was in the dressing room hall way but she wasn't out there. So when I was done I went out back to Grandma and Lily wasn't with her, we could hear her but we couldn't see her. We then realized that Lily had locked herself in a dressing room and couldn't get out. We then had to go ask a worker to unlock her out of the dressing room and the worker just laughed. It was a very funny experience. Up above I made a video of us 6 starrs holding baby Samuel and grandma and I babysitting her, so I hope you enjoy. Oh and sorry for the miss spelling on the video it is suppost to be Frederick.
